Bedrock & Paradox

I dream of a hard and brutal mysticism in which the naked self merges with a non-human world and yet somehow survives still intact, individual, separate. Paradox and bedrock.

Finished (that would be me)

It’s done.



Everything came together rather well, except two things. I can’t get the front shifter to work for all three rings, and the rear triangle is mis-set, biased a few mm’s to the nondriveside. Rideable, but disappointing.

Things are being taken care of, but its been a far more emotionally taxing experience than I want to admit. The extent to which I invest in these sorts of projects (or most any project I undertake) is upon occasion disconcerting. A blessing and a curse at once.

It’s very exciting and promising. The frame itself is sick-light, made-of-plastic light. Jumping ditches and zipping around on the street reveals the beginnings of the wonders of full suspension.

We shall see.

For the moment I’m laying it all to rest.

    It is more likely your wheel is dished wrong IMO.We can check it on the truing stand when you bring it over so I can ride it.Large or medium?First I’ve seen with drops. Very unique.

    In the shower this morning it hit me that my comment could have been made in jackass fashion. The Lev is real purty and I want to ride it :)BTW, it’s been too long. KTR right? Perhaps we can get together soonish. I’ll email you the hairbrained idea.

    Wow … that came together fast. It takes me weeks to put together a bike. And I have Geoff to do most of it for me anyway. That bike is beautiful. A few more tweaks to be perfect isn’t too bad. I have new bike pieces being eBayed my way as well. It’s not as um … small … as that one. I can’t wait!

    Eric, that was Devin’s thought as well, but flipping the wheel in the back reveals the exact same offset to the same side. It’s also the same wheel that’s been used in the Monkey and Soma without such issues.Chris, it has been a while. Fire away. I already have my ideas about your rig..Generally speaking of riding plans, it would be good to get a crew together and do the huge Moonlight Meadows-Burro-Porc epic in the La Sals before it gets shut down by snow. That typically means September. From town of course, via La Sal loop road and Squaw Springs trail.Jill, lets just say I don’t do patience very well. Things might go easier upon occasion (ie I would’ve slept more this week) if it were otherwise.
