For the weekend: solitude or socializing? And I say yes.

Tomorrow I jet off straight after work, up to the big ditch, for a short overnight. Hike until dark, camp, long day Saturday come home. Then up at 0300 Sunday for the drive to Phx and a roadie ride on SoMo for Chongoman Bob’s 30th.

And that will be all.

Here’s the above ready to rock, shades for scale. Pretty small without a stove or proper sleeping bag (poly sleeping bag liner and a R.5 sweater will suffice). Heavy for such a small pack, due to six liters of water and some heavy but tasty-in-the-heat foods.

After a mentally full week of work, I don’t want to choose moderation. So I’m not.
