I’m back!

99% sure the Lev is dialed in, and damn is it a mean mofo. Rides better than it looks, and that’s saying a lot.

Hill intervals were in the cards, but my wrist felt good, so I hit 305, which is an interval workout, anyway. Legs feel good.

Tahoe will be very fun indeed.

  1. Hey, I just found your blog yesterday. I love all your drop-bar mountain bikes. What’s the theory behind the layback seat post?

  2. Mainly, they’re a necessity for Brooks saddles. The useable rail position on a Brooks is quite small and back, therefore a layback post (especially with a Thomson) is necessary. I also seem to like a more relaxed ST angle.I was actually worried that I wouldn’t have enough steerer with the Lenz. The bb is 2″ higher than the Karate Monkey, so what was more than enough on one bike became barely enough with another. Totally sold on drops, especially for long rides.Welcome aboard.

  3. any reason you use sti for one mech and bar end for the other is it not compatible or something? cheers
