Good words from Dave Brooks, from today.
Better ones, from the Senator, last month.
I’ve never been this enthusiastic before, and it feels good.
I dream of a hard and brutal mysticism in which the naked self merges with a non-human world and yet somehow survives still intact, individual, separate. Paradox and bedrock.

I’m curious if you saw/heard Mitt’s speech, and what you thought of it?It was of course, in these parts a huge success. But I really did enjoy it. Regardless of party lines, I thought it was an important message for the country at large. When are we going to ride together again?
Did you see Dave Eggers in NYT on Obama on Sunday? Interesting stuff.
I’ll have to go with the Huckabee or Romney ticket I think from what I have seen so far.
Mr Obama spent a great deal of his speech vilifying the current administration. He promised a lot. How will he pay for it?Does government exist primarily to do good or to restrain evil?
Yes.And the Reps are no longer the party of fiscal responsibility. W put the last nail in the coffin on that one.Eggers article was also good; momentum in the steeple and in the commons. Adam, you doin’ Camp Lynda? I’ve got the time off, and prime real estate reserved on Harris’ floor. I am guilty of not reading nearly as much about “the others” as I ought, Romney’s speach interested me, but got lost in the rush of leaving for the weekend. I do find it difficult to refute the charge that Mitt has altered himself to suit the political winds.
