Missoula beta

First of all, blogging from work = bored as hell. I wanna leave, now.

Second, collecting good stuff for the future hit list. Some of it:

Thursday Night Mtn bike group (link). Some very good maps.

Missoula Sheepheads (link). A local, with some nice pictures.

Local ride site (link). Though I’m not sure how a nine mile ride can be extreme.

Club rides (link). I have to recall that sometimes riding acutally means road riding. Wtf?

Bill (link), has some awesome ride ideas.

  1. Say “hi” to Gonzostrike. He was an infamous mtbr persona who lived Missoula. Might run into him.

  2. you took my photo for your own site and never even asked? nice.

  3. Uh, sorry about that?

  4. no worries. see you in the hills in town or maybe at the cascade cream puff? peace.

  5. Absolutely. We’ll be arriving 8/1-2 or so.

  6. Hmmm, TNR a good group to go riding with but probably too mellow for you. They do have good maps and they can be accredited to Larry Dent and Alden Wright who posts them. labor of love.I know some 9 mile rides that can be extreme and I know some 100 mile rides that are easy. Although I am not sure the local road riding community likes me to much, most of the organized hard cores are roadies in this town. Maybe that will change now that it seems a hard core has landed.

  7. I can be mellow too! Those maps truly are fantastic. I’ve been grabbing a look at a few in free moments this morning, and I’m very exciting to see so many options, and so close to town! The difficulty of riding to ride is what I dislike most about our current location. Thanks for the words, Missoulans.

  8. Bill, your Missoula Vision Quest sounds VERY interesting. Planning on a run at it later this summer?
