Autumn arm warmers

More DIYness today: arm warmers made of socks!

I always kill socks by wearing through the heel, leaving a useless sock but plenty of nice wool real estate.  What to do?

Make some arm warmers. These come from a pair of “standard” wool Smartwools (upper), and lightweight Smartwool ski socks (lowers).  The combined length is just perfect.  Easy to do, provided you have a machine that does an overcasting stitch.  I’m not confident it would work without that.
The Smartwool ski socks have been some of my favorites for the better part of a decade.  Knee high, a couple weights, and thicker wool on the shin than the calf.  Great warm socks.  In this case, they allow more warmth on the outside of the forearm than the inside.
(Yes, that’s the vest.  It got chilly here overnight.)
Back to work.
Edit: Took ’em for a walk in the Rattlesnake this afternoon/evening.  Very nice.  Fall is here for sure.  Killer rainbow form the Snobowl overlook, stick-ee dirt, wet roots, aspens changing, what more?!
