Laurie, Kerry, Cory and I spent a day out hunting turns yesterday, and it was outstanding. I replayed the highlights in my dreams.
Crystal Theatre
I wrote some words on Telemark Talk.
It should be noted that I was enjoying a nice post-CL fitness boost, and enjoyed leading the charge on the skin tracks. The crew was very indulgent of my frisky-ness, letting me get in a few extra side laps towards the end of the day. I did 3k each of descent and ascent, for 5.7 miles, a moving average of 2 mph, overall average of 1 mph, and a max speed of 18. I could’ve done more by myself, but far more relevant is the process of building base fitness for skinning and skiing that will no doubt take a few years. My fatigue was considerable last night, aggravated by the fact that I only ate a bagel all day before drinking a few beers on the way home (not in the truck, at The Jack!).
My systems are dialed, insofar as clothing and transitions and concerned, and my skiing is coming along nicely. I was the slowest downhill in the group, and rarely felt like I wasn’t out towards the edge of flailing, but made it down everything with only inconsistent crashing. I reckon I’ve got around 30 days out on the season thus far. Double that or better on the current rig, add a new and much burlier tele or Dynafit rig for next season, and I think I’ll be doing quite well.
Superbowl sunday; time to do homework.

How is that first taste of tele-talk going? In the first thread you decide to talk about motorheads and horses. Throwing your balls on the table with that one. Not my style but always appreciated your blunt honesty. Sounds like their is a loyal crew on there who just enjoys the scene and compant, good to know.

Yeah, that proved to be a pretty funny exchange. I limit my trolling, somewhat.

And the discussion keeps going.I’m a bad person for trolling, but sometimes I don’t care to help myself.
