Today’s skiing

Is brought to you by slednecks.

Not really.  Spring weather continues, today is another of the clearest days I’ve yet seen hear.  Colorado spring weather, in fact.  Best get amongst it.

Gear shout out to the BD Bullet pack, circa 2003.  Back when Tom Jones was their head pack engineer, before he quit and the Bullet got watered down (ie not made of 100% Ballistics on the exterior).  It carries tiny and packs big, as demonstrated below.
That isn’t the small BD shovel, either.  A true classic.
Just like today, really.  The snowpack is holding it’s ground above 5k, and there was enough untracked surface hoar and fresh pow from days ago that I stopped cursing the gods for withholding snow for so long.
Did several laps down through the cut shown above.  Ideal easy terrain, and with friendly snow I was pushing hard enough to, on the last lap of the day, eat it because I blew an edge pushing too hard, rather than the heretofore norm of either face planting when loosing balance, or ditching to scrub speed.
Oh yeah.  It’s starting to come together.
