Boot mods

Making the SuperComps work for me, which largely means making them a bit more tour friendly.  I may eventually decide I like big boots, but I doubt it, and am still in the learning process.
First, remove the ratcheting straps over the instep by dremeling out the rivets, and replacing them with bolts and some hardware from ACE.

Voile straps lock ’em in tight, and those points don’t need to be released for skinning.
Next, remove the velcro powerstrap (same process) and cut down the rear plastic shell with the dremel.
Then trim the liners to match.  I’ll likely replace them with Intuitions for next season, but the stock ones fit me well.

The outer material of 1.5 mm plasticy stuff necessitates hand sewing with a fat needle, dental floss, and a pliers, which is a pain.  And slow.
I hope to finally go skiing on Monday.
