I competed in a ski race today, and came in second (out of three guys). It was part of the Montana Backcountry Alliance’s Lolo Luau party, and it was good.
The ladies charge to the finish.
I won a gift certificate for one night (for one person) at the Altoona Ridge Lodge, which is also pretty nifty. Most of all, I did some hard skinning and skiing, drank some beer, ate some burgers, and sat around in the sun.
And I’m really tired. I did two laps before the race, the last one pretty darn fast up and down. During the actual race, I killed myself pretty good catching up to Matt by the top, beat him on the transition, and got blown away on the descent. We were really the only ones racing, everyone else finished in a bunch a good 30 minutes later.
A good, tiring day. Racing is fun.
