Summer in Montana is the season of light. We’ve got more of it than we know what to do with, and after a rainy and cloudy June everyone in town seems to revel in it. Things like cleaning, laundry, and shoping for food are cast aside when a post-work adventure can feature 4+ hours of full daylight. As it should be.
Jill and I indulged this evening, and it was sweet. Hot enough in the sun to be enjoyable, cool in the shade, a chill setting in quick once the sun went down. Full bluebird.
I’ve been obsessed with light, as the last few weeks photography shows. Everytime I pull out the camera, which is usually in the evening, I’m not so interested in the magic light falling on trees and grass. I want to turn around the face the sun, put it square in the frame and celebrate the hold it has on our lives. So I do.
The time for black and white will come soon enough, but not this week.
