La Sals ski traverse

This doesn’t get done very often, and even less often in a day, with what looks like as close to ideal conditions as that very windy mountain range ever gets.

    • The La Sals stick up so far and abruptly above the desert that they get hammered by wind and sun. Usually the south aspects have no snow, and the north and east aspects have snow which is horrid, very avalanche prone, or both. With exceptional conditions these guys did in a day what some fail to do in a week.

  1. Summing up: light, fast skill focused travel allowed that to happen when conditions were optimum. A message to others when planning. Light, fast, skill focused travel backed with fitness – is a mix that will deliver dream trips. Grit, determination and sucking up the pain also helps without a doubt.
