    For the future book: The DRTE 100 near Santa Barbara.  34k+ of gain, 1 mile of pavement, it’s not even a full loop! (Foot race bikers, sorry.)  I’d only have to miss one day of class to do it this fall…. For the book of past fun: A very informative, essentially free ($10) avy class…

  • Backcountry skiing

    Is really becoming quite the fun thing. Start with breakfast in the dark. Add a nice dawn on the hill.Good views.And good skiing (the pissing drizzle in town last night fell up high as a few inches of fresh fluff).And finish it off with a challenge.What had been bomber tree skiing in powder last week…

  • Crystal Theatre

    Laurie, Kerry, Cory and I spent a day out hunting turns yesterday, and it was outstanding.  I replayed the highlights in my dreams.
