Reba

I believe my Reba needs a little love. It sat sideways in the back of the truck for most of the day yesterday, and a little oil leaked out of the top of the left leg. The travel seems a little less supple now, and every mid-volume rebound produces a sucking or squelching sound.

I’m freaked about working on it, so the question is: do I invest in all the stuff I need to do so myself, or take it to a local shop. Complication to option 2, I don’t have too much faith in any of the local shops. I do need to go in regardless, to get a headset and freewheel removed.

Feedback and advice on the Reba appreciated. It needs to get done before we leave for Colorado next week.

On that note, anyone want a 26″ SS wheel? Eno flip/flop hub, 32h 3x DT Champs, Sun Rhynolite XL. It’s got some wear on the rim, but overall plenty of life left.

    How much for the wheel? Mostly I’d be after the hub but I could use it as is for a little bit maybe.

    Tear into that fork! The local shop guy will use the same SRAM/RockShox manual that you can look up online and he probably won’t be as thorough as you will. Very few shop guys do enough fork overhauls to have them committed to memory. I was scared of my fork once. I have conquered my fear and now replace seals and change the oil at will. I highly recommend the Enduro Seals and their site has great instructions as well as syringes and stuff. http://www.enduroforkseals.com

    Come over and I will remove the HS and freewheel and hold your hand on the fork rebuild. Just get the oil you need, and possibly a six sided 21 or 22mm box wrench or socket. Important to be six sided. They are hard to find. I can get by with ‘merican sizes, but not ideal.Wouldn’t hurt to get a seal set from Rock shox.
