Tahoe in Pictures

No big report this time, just pictures (in random order) and a few words to go along. Not shown: eating BBQ and sitting around watching cable (gasp!) TV.

The bike high on the Tahoe Rim Trail, east side.

In 45 minutes I’ll be down swimming in that gorgeous lake…

Half Dome.

Tenaya Lake from Clouds Rest. Only 8 miles to go!

Changing a flat at 10k in the White Mountains.

Bristlecones. Amazing to touch trees that have been around since before Homer and Abraham.

Brett (MTBR friend) showing off the finest Tahoe has to offer.

M atop Rubicon Peak, just a hair over 9k and the best views around.

M being fashionable and avoiding the cracks.

YT and the Tuolumne River.

  1. Umm.. wasn’t the oldest Bristle cone around 4,000 years old???According to the most conservative Young Earth Creationists Abraham came into play around the Third Millennia BC… slipping a bit into the second- which would put the birth of the oldest tree right around when God called Abraham to kill his only son.But not before. Certainly not before. It’s alright- I know the religious stuff is a bit hard for you… the trees were over a millennia older then Homer though- you got that correct :)

  2. I think some of the dead ones had been around longer. I know a little bit about the Bible, mainly because Kierkegaard liked to talk about Abraham.
