The Immediate Future

I’m calling it as a firm in for the Double Boundary Ride in Taos this weekend. Gotta rally Chad and M, and get the mapping situation figured out. Reading between the lines I’m thinking the possibilities for getting confused on the way up are not small.

Looking further, the first week of October is my next vacation. Plans are in the works to ride in Salida with the Big Cheese on the 29th and 30th, and all are invited! I’m hoping the snow holds just long enough. On either (or both) the 1st or the 2nd of October I’ll be in Denver itself, primarily to visit and interview at the Social Work graduate school of Denver University. I also hope to be social and begin feeling out the area for possible relocation next year. Assistance, any and all, is very welcome.

The rest of the week shall be spent in the desert, doing something. Big ride on the 6th, anyone?

The other question becomes the 24 Hours of Moab, which I am most certainly not racing. Everyone else is, it seems, and I imagine that a trip north will be almost unavoidable. And make it possible the I will spend no weekends at home during September or November.

Crazy.

  1. Got plenty of space at our house if you want to crash when you’re in town. Keep me posted.

  2. Will do. Any clue how far it is from your place to DU? My knowledge of Denver is, spotty.

  3. Depends on traffic. Maybe 20 minute if you don’t have backups. I’m in Westminster which along US 36 about halfway between Denver and Boulder. US 36 and I-25 are the big corridor highways near me and DU is probably off I-25 a few miles from the interchange.

  4. Yup, Evergreen also has a guest room if you need/want it. About 30 mins. from downtown Denver, trails galore. That is of course, if you can stand to visit a grammar nazi ;-)Ed

  5. I’ll bring the thesaurus. Ed, you up for an alpine jaunt on the weekend of the 29th?
