Evening news

Our recycling service doesn’t take glass, so we’ve been stock piling since we moved here 14 months ago. Despite our best efforts, it seems that no one in the area does, so a cleansing is in order.

These are the 106 New Belgian bottles. 55 other beer bottles (M tells me), and many salsa jars. Not too bad.

The ponies got some love, too. The Lenz got very needed new brake pads, a nifty Salsa stem to replace Eric’s loner, and a Salsa quick release for the seatpost. After our freeride jaunt in Tahoe, and the first bit of Burro, I’m convinced that this will be a useful addition. Quite pretty, too.

The Monk got a serious retro makeover, the old riser and ESI grips (to free up a midge for M), freewheel and v-brakes. The track cog is still on, Dave. Under parking lot conditions the bars feel very strange, indeed.

I had a nice omg moment when my phone squawked during dinner: Chad sending me the first text I’ve ever received, telling me he’s in this weekend. Better get that wheel fixed, brah. Maybe if it breaks you can hitch a ride from Donald Rumsfeld.

Sweet.

(Matt, we might take you up if you want two racers and a very nice spouse invading latish Friday. Email?)

  1. I vote that you built a green house (or brown house as it is) and use the bottles with plaster for the walls!

  2. Except we have enough bottles to build a green house for Barbie right now… Dave- you don’t mind if I save all our bottles for another two or three years- right???

  3. maybe glass and tire house =)You would have to build it in Ward, CO

  4. Are you trying to say we should rethink Silverton???Ward, CO = “The town has received both admiration for its acceptance of outcasts and social misfits, as well as criticism as being a lawless haven for drug users, criminals, and the mentally ill. It also boasts the highest concentration of Ph.D. degree holders in the U.S.”Coincidence??? I think not…

  5. PHD= Piled Higher and Deeper

  6. brown, yellow, orange, and blue… that monk has got to be one of the ugliest, err I mean sharpest looking rides I’ve ever seen.

  7. The red Titec bars are definitly unique, and the ESI grips are a very purple blue. Flair is good.
