  1. It is absolutely frightening to me what some people are thinking.I really have a lot of fear for this country, I can almost feel it beginning to come apart at the seams. The divisions are huge and I don’t see any of these candidates bridging the gaps. The war in Iraq was a good idea? Frightening!Ed

  2. 55% of Democrats think Creationism should be taught in schools???The libertarian party is looking better and better these days…

  3. “55% of Democrats think Creationism should be taught in schools???”No kidding! That blew me away too.Weird.Ed

  4. This election is a nightmare. I think I’m tossing my vote this year. I never thought I’d say that. I really think it is the duty of citizens to vote, but I think it will be for some obscure someone, possibly libertarian.Creationism? I strongly believe in a Creator, but “Creation Science” is not science at all and should not be taught in schools as such. Perhaps in a comparative religion/philosophy class. Plain old hard core science will make you think plenty about a creator. You will never be able to prove it, however.

  5. One thing everyone can agree on ?!I had a high school physics teacher who was a very Christian man. He was pretty heavy-handed at pushing the “wonder of the universe as evidence for God” bit, but he certainly had points worthy of consideration. (He also did sex ed by talking about the molecular fallibility of condoms.)

  6. The buck stops with the physicists. Carl Sagan excepted, many, many of them believe in God.The joke goes that the if the Biologists and Chemists can’t figure something out, they figure the Physicists can explain it. Physicists know what they don’t know and are more likely to see the evidence of a “higher power”.

  7. only 50% of democrats and less than 20% of republicans would CONSIDER voting for an atheist for president? now that’s the one that really frightens me. at least the creationism question has the loophole that you could approve of it being taught in schools as a philosophy rather than a science (not that many of the people taking this survey were likely thinking that way about it).instead of beating around the bush with the gay sex/marriage questions and the aethiest for president question they should have just been more blunt and asked if people practice hatred and bigotry as an everyday part of their life? you know, get right to the heart of the matter.
