Evening

Go listen to Jill!

Jill, I’m interested in thoughts: both on the interview process (as I’d find that scary), and on the femininity and athleticism issue. Those BPP hosts aren’t up to Michelle Block standards.

Other exciting events of the day:

-M is selling bags! We will be wealthy soon!
-Spicy Duck at resulting celebratory Chinese dinner!
-new bike shorts!
-(some) Xmas shopping done

  1. Thanks, Dave!I was pretty terrified before during the interview, although it wasn’t justified. I used to work as a reporter and have conducted enough interviews to know they’re all about fishing for good soundbites, with some actual information mixed in (especially for the “puff” pieces, you know, like a chick-on-a-snow-bike bit.) So I feel a lot of performance anxiety about the soundbite thing, and was actually pretty relieved that the hosts kept it straightforward. Sure, they didn’t really have all the facts. Anchors rarely do. The producers I talked to beforehand actually know quite a bit about the race. One of them, Laura, actually reads my blog, which is how I landed the gig in the first place (seeing as how there are dozens of people training for this race right now, and most of them are more likely than me to win.)Anyhow, this comment went a little long. What was the question again?
