I heart PiYo

Sometimes the little things make a big difference, like PiYo class this morning (I even dragged M out of bed). It’s an ass (and ab) kicking fusion of pilates and yoga. No experience with the former here, but I did ok. Too bad Sunday morning classes aren’t something I’ll be doing too often.

The classes, mainly yoga, have improved my body awareness enormously. It’s also rapidly improving areas normally neglected by cycling and running. Good stuff.

After the 80 minute class, I climbed 1.5k in 20 minutes on the stairmaster, 2:3 work:rest intervals, which hurt.

At home, and after In ‘n Out burger for lunch (M’s idea!), I finished off an acceptable side pocket for the GPS and snacks.

Old satchel pocket, expanded with a bit of seatpost bag (very handy, and quality material) appropriately gusseted with M’s guidance. It slides on with a neoprene sleeve, and a bit of easily removed stitching holding it in place. I’ll give it a few weeks before I think about how the other side will end up looking.

Then, I went out for a short ride. We had a screw’d up flat tire on the truck, so I took a spin around the neighborhood instead.

Eventually, the novelty will wear off and you’ll stop being deluged with Topofusion files. I’m having fun being a geek for the moment: 11.1 moving average (on the SS!), a mighty 516 feet of climbing. 37 minutes moving, 1:03 stopped (hopping fences).

I even went flying across an empty lot, hopped the bank, put my front wheel in a ditch, and went OTB into the gravel.

Boooo.
