Kokopelli ’08: Narrative

Food is key.

MTBR narrative here.

Numbers here. (Marshal?)

Postgame later. I’m beat. Spent the afternoon and evening cleaning, organizing, drinking some recovery beers.

Quite frankly, too much in my head to put it all in order.

Backing up: We did have to get to Moab.

Friday we hung out, then hiked Elephant Butte in Arches, an all-time classic.

M in the hidden worlds. (Where does the route go?)

Me on the unprotected ~5.2 crux.

Going down to go up.

Best view in town? As if such a choice could be made….

It’s always been a generator of good vibes and mojo. No exception this year. (One can see Delicate Arch to the right of M. Carefully.)

  1. Man that looks like fun! Love your blog. The pics and narratives are excellent. Interesting food selection.Gu – Have yet to try. I’m addicted to Cliff Mocha and Expresso.Cliff Mojo – Can’t do. It’s like eating bird seed. (Not that I”ve tried it)Twizzlers :)Little white pills??? (Vitamins?)

  2. Thanks Vito. The little pills are Hammer Endurolytes. I rarely have issues with cramping, but I’ve found electrolyte additives to be useful when it’s really hot. And I should have had more twizzlers. The Mojo bar did not get eaten, either.

  3. It was good seeing you and M again. Nice job on a stellar ride.

  4. Dave,Good luck with grad school. I’ve been teaching here for 20 years. 18 at the same school. What do you teach? You mentioned the move. Where to?Sorry about all the questions. Just curious.Whatever…best of luck to you.

  5. Vito, I teach middle and high school Geography, US History, and Government at a boarding school for female juvenile delinquents. We’re moving in Missoula in August, where I’ll be getting a Masters in Social Work at the U of M.
