As in, 32 minutes up Mount Sentinel. As in, 17 meters/minute average. I hit 20 a few times. Say what?! I’m in better shape than I thought.
Obviously, the gauntlet to go sub-30 has been well and thoroughly thrown.
I ran down the back side, looping singletrack around south and back north, for a nice 92 minute run. Probably 8 miles total? Have to look at a map for that one.
What’s better than the aforementioned, starting at 1300 on a hot afternoon? Jumping in the river on the way home, cold river + flying along the bike path’ll bring the core temp down in a hurry.
This morning was the (three) Saturday AM markets. Two are actual farmers affairs, the third is exclusively hippy-dippy crafts ‘n shit. In the future we’re getting there a bit before 1100, so have fewer urges to thwack my way through the bloviating throngs with my helmet. M got some shots of our haul, which she will no doubt soon add to the continued series of “cool stuff around here”. Right now I’m chowing on a salad of local mixed greens, basil, shredded beet, and sauteed sausage, with my own special dressing.
As follows:
Mince 4 fat, local, organic garlic cloves.
Dice 8 each jalapeno and banana peppers of same persuasion. Don’t even think of de-seeding those jala’s!
Shred a good fist of fresh basil.
Add evoo and some sea salt.
Pound well and good with a mortar and pestle, until the juices flow freely.
Let sit refrigerated for a few hours, use sparingly.
Magnifique!
