It has been a good year. New heights of fun and performance in the first seven months, a move, and the beginning of a new chapter in our life. A strong beginning, too.
Lots of good friends and good fun. Even, especially, when the fun was “fun”.
Maps show us where we’ve been. Topofusion and the blog remain a huge tool for memory.
The performance summaries here and here still hold true.
The Colorado Plateau sill hides my soul, somewhere.

I found quite a few pieces this year.
But there are still more out there.
Aside from a June-December weekend tally (perhaps), I’m signing off for the year. Being at my parents house is a natural hibernation time; sleep lots, eat lots, pudge out and let body and mind be still for a while. Next year will be a great year for strides in professional and academic understanding, skiing, and adventure.
Goals remain:
-Doing as well as I am able in school. The specifics here are beginning to become visible.
-Improve my skiing and understanding of winter and mountain travel vastly. Concrete formulation: a spring Sierra High Route/JMT trip with the Woodchuck in a few years.
-Greater comfort at pushing the adventure threshold. More quick overnights, more trips into the unknown, more multisport and multiday outings. Training and performance gains to make this all possible, efficient, and fun.
See everyone then.
