I’ve been sorting through pictures for a school project, and wanted to put some memories back out there in the world.
M cooking breakfast on Highway 12 up on the Aquarius Plateau, December 2005, during out nomadic phase. The truck hit 100,000 miles later that morning near Calf Creek. It’s know got over 200,000. That area might be a skiing destination this April.
Looking into the bowels of the beast, big wall rap at the end of Coral Hollow, ZNP, April 2007. It’s later in the day than it looks, and ended in nightfall down in the Narrows, a long wet walk in the dark, and a bivy in the bathroom at the end of the road. I’d like to go back one day, it’d be a great day out (in a type I fun way) without the route fiddling that ate all our daylight.
Zoroaster Temple at sunset on the Tonto, August 2007. A cool little overnight under unique conditions. So much of the Grand Canyon calls still. This year’s been pretty respectable thus far, though sorting through the shots reminded me that we haven’t had an honest powder day in 6+ weeks. WTF, maaaaannnn!
I’ll likely have some new skis soon, and use ’em plenty, powder of not. Karhu Guides, to round out the distance end of the hypothetical distance-technical quiver of two.
