JMT ski beta log

For future consideration (B).

-James Lutz 1992 trip.  Day by day beta.  Vague yet specific
Article on Doug Robinson, who skied the JMT in 1970.  Some nifty photos, but little hard beta.  Doug’s book A Night on the Ground, A Day in the Open is worth seeking out.  It has the complete account of their trip, and other good stuff besides.
-Bob’s Sierra touring beta.  Haven’t gotten into it yet.  The High Route-in-a-day account begins to beg the question of what gear?
-Tele talk Tahoe ski circumnav TR.  Not directly germane, but cool and another answer to the gear question.  I do think not stopping can be a bit pointlessly masochistic.
-Chris Simmons’ Sierra ski beta.  Some useful TRs near the bottom.
That’s all for now.  Will be updated as needed.  Gotta be more JMT ski beta out there.

  1. would be a brilliant trip if you could in there during the right conditions. would be absolutely frightening in the wrong conditions. I am assuming folks have done in spring corn conditions?
