Like Arizona

Mid 80’s and humidity in the teens today.  Headed out at 1430 to maximize the exposure.
Climbed Son of and Sidewinder, up Sheep to the saddle after the first traverse around 6000′.

Turned around at the first patch I couldn’t see across, road some more, then back the way I came.
A nice day in Montana.

Recovery.  Six hours of training today.  Good to be back.  I need to be back.  Bad.  For many reasons.
Still on the fence about how many gears to bring next month.

  1. Sure is purty in those northern parts.I presume GL is off the plan now?For June I highly recommend 1 gear. I’ve done it both ways and SS was by far more enjoyable – and I’m pretty sure I walked less, not more on that last nasty climb…See ya in June (or May??).

  2. No GL, I got a nice job for the summer that I can only take so much time off, and am in no place trying to ride like that right now. I am leaning towards the single. It’s easy to think the gears make life easier, but it just ain’t so.

  3. Gears hurt my ass.

  4. LOL Enel, I am in complete agreement. I just did an overnight on the SS and ran fairly small gearing. It hurt my ass a lot like my geared steeds, wasn’t prepared for that!Copy that Dave. LW and I will likely do the 130 together on the singles – that’s the current plan. As much as I want to do the 200 (today) history tells me that 2 weeks post GLR it would not be wise. Besides, a day with LW on the bikes is a thing of beauty.
