Two weeks

Is a very long time. So much has gone on in my last two, and I have so much I want to share. It’ll have to come in bits. Right now I am very glad to be home, to not be driving, and tired. So only a few things stand out.
2 Epic:
Too crazy, too bold, too inspiring. They looked leaner and hungrier than usual, and were. I always leave Dave and Lynda’s presence wanting to hold myself to a higher standard.

The KMC 130 starters. 75% finish rate, and a very impressive second try and first place by Andy. And massive tenacity by all. As usual, no one rode less than a century. And Steve C. brought dutch oven lasagna!
Chad and Mike. They both seem to bring out the best in others, and when you get them together….
Sunday traditions. That’s not iced tea, either.
The Narrows was nice as always yesterday.
As for the 200, I DNS’d, which was wise. I was just unprepared, in some ways that could’ve been prevented, in others that I don’t regret.
There is, thankfully, always next year. Thanks everyone.

  1. Ah, thank you Dave. It was a splendid time.I'm not so sure LW ever wants to ride up there again but it's already calling me back. What is it with that area?? I love it.Hey if you are still in the area give a shout.

  2. Back home, thankfully. I was tired, and missed M loads.Already thinking about next month..

  3. Great times Dave. Although I have to admit I was calling you all sorts of names when I had to hold my taillight in my mouth going up climbs in the dark. In the end, it was more my fault in playing tourist along the way. I could have easily cut off at least two hours.Good to get to see everybody and finally meet some people I have just chatted with over the internet.
