ThNR

Tonight was the “annual” Thursday Night Ride brewery tour. Caveat: I reserve the right, in theory if not in practice, to edit this if it makes no or little damn sense.

Amazing how typing goes towards the end.

We did a short, casual ride east of town. It would have been casual if I hadn’t kept it in the town gear (34:16) the whole time, and gone for the sprint win after Ronnie remarked that we needed to drop the singlespeeder. Getting a good gap is easier when no one else knows the finish line.

I think I spent too much gas on that one, as the elastic was stretched pretty thin coming back in to town on the rail trail. Alden almost dropped me in the final hundred meters after ruthlessly sucking my wheel all the way in.
The rest of the evening was a pint at the old Kettlehouse, a 20+ mph sprint down the dark bike path to Bayern, then two pints of Octoberfest (sublime!!), and another 20+ mph sprint down the bike path and Higgins (with cops!) to the Iron Horse restaurant.
Then some pitures (sp?), huge plates of nachos (a large order feeds “10-14” people!? Bill and I had to help the other table out with their plate), and general preverication.
Once again, a rockin’ crew of folks, people who like to have fun and like to ride bikes.

What more, eh?

After the last eight days, I needed that. Waking for 810 class isn’t going to be any easier.

  1. Yeah – I can't believe I was the one dragging You out of bed this morning… I think that's happened approx. 3 times in the 6 years we've been together :)

  2. Dave, best of luck with your adventure next week. I'm looking forward to the trip report!

  3. Thanks Aaron! It's gonna be good!
