It is out there. 37 inches at the summit of Big Mountain. We’re going skiing tomorrow.
Yesterday evening there was a quite a lot in Glacier, even (as shown) at 3905′ (Avalanche Lake).
Yeee. Haw!
I dream of a hard and brutal mysticism in which the naked self merges with a non-human world and yet somehow survives still intact, individual, separate. Paradox and bedrock.

31 Oct. 2010Nice Bedrock! Enjoy the country up there! You and M are probably in heaven.I was hunting on the ID border today in the rain and in two feet of wet snow. I was thinking about your comments re. wet hiking boots on a past post…. Lots of opps.. for your new hobby – fly fishing – get to know Mr. Adams and Stimi and hit the Middle Fork!Hope to see you soon, Cheers!
That first photo is epic.
3+ feet of snow up big mt was no lie. Somehow the snow on the upper half of the mountain fell with more moisture early. The base is shockingly solid, very well bonded, and with 8 inches of heavy powder on top.Amazing.
