  1. Good first stab at the gear list … eager beaver! Some opportunities to shave ounces here & there without sacrificing functionality. Have you considered the course could be completed without a packraft? The rules just say only Alpaca & Sherpa packrafts are acceptable, not that you have to take one. Not saying you might not still want the PFD for some “interesting” crossings. I’ll start looking at this stuff in the spring, but for sure this year is going to provide many options!

    1. I would not want to swim the Copper.

  2. You make it really hard to find your gear list. Are you being intentionally obstinate?

    1. No! I tried to embed a PDF here but gave up (after a short time). The gear list in profile is standard BPL practice. Here’s the google docs link: https://docs.google.com/a/backpackinglight.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AoEhuD5RFBfYdFNwaXY3SUlJUHVRUFRnQTUxNThaamc&hl=en_US#gid=0

  3. I was just giving you a hard time :-)

  4. Thank you.

In preparing for your 2012 Bob Marshall Wilderness Open, I decided to pack my Jetboil too.

Although one could get by with a hexagonal TI wood stove and Ti pot, the idea of fresh Starbucks coffee within 3 minutes would provide a powerful psychological boost.

    1. Physical as well. Hot liquids down the pipe is the fastest way to warm up if you’re seriously cold.
