Evening: more on topic
Firstly, the Lenz is not back together this evening. The fucking bike shop in Iowa sent it to High Gear rather than us, and I found out too late to do anything. Experiences like this swear me to order everything from The Path and be done with it all. So, I’ve been reading some interesting…

Somewhat off topic
The Bureau of Livestock and Mining, indeed. Here I am on my trusty steed, a retired Yosemite rental bike. Bullwinkle, Potter, Ammon, and I used to wage “Bike Wars,” coming at each other gladiator-style (head-on) on our respective rides. Basically, if you put a foot down, you scored a point; the goal was the lowest…

New trail!
What could be better! It’s not much, 4 miles and change, but nifty nonetheless. It also provides a good link for big singletrack rides. Excellent trailwork, with some cool scenery. I rode the Leviathan with the new old bars, ergons, and M’s wheel with s 20t Surly cog. Which for some reason skipped like nuts…

Brooks sums it up
Still, amid the storms of the presidency, their basic worldviews would shape their presidencies. Obama is instinctively a conversationalist and community-mobilizer. Clinton, as she says, will fight and fight. If elected, she’ll have the power to take the Hobbesian struggle she perceives, and turn it into remorseless reality. That is all. Interesting to see just…

Tminus 2Days (!)
Got out for just a ride this beautiful afternoon. Businesslike on the singlespeed, plenty of fun moments running at rocks, plenty of moments leaning on the TT checking out the scene. Thought I saw some Enel tracks along the wash: Exi/Nevegal combo taking “unique” lines amongst and over certain boulders. Granite Mountain is a cool…

Tminus 3 Days
And now, I look to the future. An occasional curse on free moments and dull tasks at work. Spring is here! Time to get out! (pics for Ed and his short attention span) M leaves early tomorrow for Trans Iowa. A huge adventure. I’ve been a nag all too often in the past months; always…

Fishy
Stan the man is back, with a follow up to last week’s article on “French theory.” Some notes: -His point that Derridean recurisve writing (of which he gives a good summary) is in some ways comparable to (for instance) St. Augustine is very interesting. My Augustine is more than a bit dusty, but the idea…
